When I first published a cartoon on this blog, way back in 2009; a woman wrote to me and said it had been a cartoon that had first turned her on to spanking. The cartoon she was talking about was the famous, much seen, professor with the slide rule cartoon from national Lampoon shown above.
I didn’t remember this until I chanced upon the first picture, which made me laugh. It is a parody of the 1969 John Wayne movie True Grit, which made me laugh.
After some digging I found out that the cartoon is one panel from a comic strip published in 1970 by Mad magazine.
The next picture above is another Mad spoof that I had not seen before, there are more like this on the Chicago Spanking Review.
The last picture claims to be inspired by Mad, but appears to be more like a tribute to the first National Lampoon cartoon. Anyway it brings us full circle and demonstrates the power of art while I finish Parkway which has taken longer than originally intended.
