Some time ago I penned a short story in five parts called the Lanark Island Herald.
It concerns the adventures of a young 20-something journalist who is serves as an intern on an island newspaper off the coast of New England. Much to her surprise her new landlady and adopted family have very particular ideas about discipline and after some initial resistance she finds that there is nothing unusual about this on Lanark.
In the spirit of ‘when in Rome’ she embraces this adventure and it is not long before she is deep into investigating the locked room at the newspaper office and the secrets of a journalist sorority that go back to the 19th century.
Who is the mysterious publisher and just what has she to do with the cream of women journalist in the USA?
LSF have now published this story as novella and it is available here.
